As we approach the Easter holidays and look toward the final trimester, many
students and parents begin asking: “When is the right time to take an English
exam?”
While having a proficient speaking ability is the core focus of our classes, earning a
recognized English qualification is a vital step for university applications and future
career prospects.
Cambridge Exam Preparation
As an official Cambridge Preparation Centre, we primarily focus on two major
milestones:
- Cambridge First (B2 First / FCE)
This exam validates your skills at an Upper Intermediate (B2) level.
- Entry Requirement: Students must have a minimum B1 level to start the
course. - Duration: Typically takes two years to complete, though this can vary from
one to three years based on individual progress.
2. Cambridge Advanced (C1 Advanced / CAE)
Once a student passes the First exam, they can progress to the CAE.
- Grade Matters: Students with an A or B grade in FCE are usually ready for
immediate CAE study. - Consolidation: Students with a C grade often need extra time to strengthen
their B2 foundations before moving up.
Alternative Exams: IELTS & Oxford Test of English
Sometimes, specific goals like immigration or studying abroad require different
certifications: - IELTS: A globally recognized test often used for university entrance.
- Oxford Test of English: An increasingly popular and flexible alternative.
Foundation Levels (A2 & B1)
We also support students at the A2 (Key) and B1 (Preliminary) levels. These are
available via 1-to-1 tuition or in small groups (3–6 students). - Book a level placement test today!
